We enjoyed a beautiful day together at the Spring Retreat. Here are some photos:
We wish everyone a Happy Holiday season and a happy new year. We will start off the new year events with a meditation seminar on Saturday January 18th at 10:00 am. Dada Vedaprajinananda will guide both new and old meditators with a session on Overcoming Obstacles in Meditation. Meditation often seems difficult, but after attending this workshop you will have the tools which will help you to make meditation an enjoyable and rewarding experience. The details of the seminar are on our events page.
Ananda Liina was covered with snow during the last part of December and for those who were not able to see the beauty of a snow-covered Ananda Liina here is a photo.
As you drive into Ananda Liina you will seeing a small sign on the right hand side of the road stating that Ananda Liina is a certified wildlife refuge. There are all kinds of birds and animals on our premises. Recently we have had some visitors, Great White Egrets who are joining the already present Great Blue Herons that hunt fish in our pond.
Here are some photos of the new arrivals:

Around 20 participants enjoyed the recently held spring retreat. Our special guest was Didi Ananda Us’a who gave an inspiring workshop on mantras, chants and yoga practices. Dada Vedaprajinananda gave a workshop on karma yoga. Here are a few photos from the retreat.

We had a good time at the Health and Wellness Fair at Marketplace Mall on January 26. We had our books and CDs on display and sold Autumn Berry Jam (made from the berries at Ananda Liina. Here is a photo taken at the fair:
Our recent Learn How to Meditate workshop was an inspiring event for those who attended. and our series of Friday night yoga classes is off to a good start.
More than 20 participants enjoyed a weekend of chanting, meditation, classes and workshops, yoga postures, a nature walk and some delicious vegetarian meals. All of this was done under blue skies in the green surroundings of the Ananda Liina center.

If you were not able to attend this retreat, we will have others in the future. Also one of the classes on “Perfecting the layers of the mind with yoga practices” was recorded and is online at http://www.dharmacast.com/2012/10/01/perfecting-the-layers-of-the-mind/
We enjoyed three days of chanting, meditation, workshops, a yoga class, a cultural program and a walk around the eco-village. It was raining outside but that did not dampen our spirits. We also had the good fortune of having a professional chef, Viireshvar, with us and the gourmet vegetarian meals were appreciated by all.
Didi Ananda Amoha joined us from Asheville and conducted a workshop on kiirtan. Dada Vedaprajinananda gave classes on spiritual philosophy (comparing the spiritual secrets of Shiva and Buddha) and social philosophy.
During the cultural program we enjoyed classical guitar pieces performed by Vimal Kumar and some amazing story telling by Karen Libman.
